Hello world

October 25, 2012

Hello out there. Yes, you. The one staring at his/her computer screen/tablet/smartphone (ain’t technology grand?)

My name is Gil. Dating has never come easy for me, so I thought I’d start this blog to see if there’s anyone else out there who can relate to having a lot of trouble finding their Significant Other.

Are you tired of being feeling lonely? Are you tired of coming home to an empty apartment or house? (Don’t Worry. Unlike all those TV ads you see, I’m not going to let this line of questioning try to convince you to participate in a clinical study on depression.) If you answered yes, to any of these questions, then maybe you’ll be able to relate to the always colorful, sometimes rant-filled musings that will clutter, err, I mean comprise this blog.

What’s that? You want to know more about me? I’m a 30-something male living in America’s Finest City (that’s San Diego, CA for those of you not up on your American City Nickname trivia). Most people think I have a British or Australian accent. One poor misguided fella even thought I was from Ireland, even though I don’t sound remotely Irish. I’m actually from South Africa — you know, the southern tip of that continent between South America and Australia, that you rarely hear about in the news unless it has to do with war, famine or oil. OK,OK, I’ll try not to get too political…especially in my first post.

I’d like to say that I’m tall, dark and handsome, but I’d be lying. I’m actually, short, light-skinned, and…OK, well, 1 out of 3 isn’t bad.

Stick around as I update this blog on a semi-regular basis. Feel free to leave me comments (as long as you’re not posting links for Viagra — I’m not that old…yet.)
